The workshop will explore different ways games can convey and generate meaning. Even though the focus is on more so called higher level aesthetic strategies such as storyworlds and narrative we will also discuss how small, even tiny, details and mechanics can be used for meaning-making.
The students are asked to select one game each to bring to the workshop for discussion.
The expected outcome is that we shall have deeper understanding of how to design for meaningful play.
